NARRATOR: A man in a living room.

BRYAN: An important and helpful adaptation for lighting is to have it available with a dimmer switch, so that you can increase and decrease the level of lighting as needed for various tasks. A rheostat, or dimmer switch, can allow you to control the glare, yet increase the lighting as needed. This is available both in ceiling lighting, such as the incandescent lights in this living room, or with a task lamp, such as the incandescent desk lamp on the table here.

NARRATOR: The man turns a knob on the lamp.
