Brief Description

Based in New York City, Gatewave brings printed matter to life for people with vision, reading, or physical disabilities, affording them independence, dignity and enrichment through the use of innovative technology and dedicated volunteer readers. We broadcast the content of over 100 magazines and newspapers 24-hours a day / 7 days a week, and distribute our programming to individual listeners in their homes. We also broadcast to over 60 hospitals and skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. We also provide content to a national network of reading services in 28 states.

  • Reading Services
    • Broadcasts on the internet and by closed-circuit radio using special receivers to our audience who, because of their disability, cannot read what our volunteers can see. Our volunteer broadcasters read the content from over 100 newspapers and magazines including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Cat Fancy, Dog Fancy and People.
