Self-Care for People Who are Blind or Low Vision

Studies report people living with low vision experience higher rates of chronic illnesses like diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and depression and self-care can play a huge role in helping one cope and manage chronic illnesses. Self-care means caring for yourself in ways that promote health and well-being. It is critical to follow a self-care plan including a routine of intentional practices designed to meet your physical, emotional, and spiritual needs and enable you to function at your best. Self-care gives you the power to nurture your body, mind, and spirit in transformative ways. In this series of articles, we will cover five domains of self-care.
