Steve Kelley

Steve holds an M. A. in Rehabilitation of the Blind and an M. A. in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Arkansas. He works as a Vision Rehabilitation Therapist (VRT) for the Iris Network in Portland, Maine.

As a staff member of the Access Technology and Employment Services (ATES) program, Steve learns, teaches, and advocates for assistive technology. He has obtained his certification as Certified Assistive Technology Instructional Specialist for People with Visual Impairments, (CATIS), a highly trained expert who specializes in working with individuals who are blind, visually impaired or who have functional visual limitations, and empowers them to achieve their life goals for education, employment, avocation and independence through the use of assistive technology. His interest in technology began as a columnist and freelance writer specializing in computers and the Internet. Later, Steve became interested in computer technology for access to print, and accessible web design.

Steve is an active member of the Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (AER) and the AER Information and Technology Division.
