Brief Description

The Early Childhood Technical Assistance Center (formerly NECTAC) supports the national implementation of the early childhood provisions of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Our mission is to strengthen systems at all levels to ensure that children (birth through five) with disabilities and their families receive and benefit from high quality, culturally appropriate and family centered supports and services.

ECTA Center provides information and publications (free download) about early intervention for infants and toddlers and early childhood special education services for preschool age children via the ECTA Center website.

Services Offered

  • Consultation/Technical Program Assistance
    • Services are not specific to visual impairment, but state programs for IDEA's provisions for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers with or at risk for disabilities.
