Brief Description

Lead agency for Nevada's early intervention (0 through 2 years of age) system as required under Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Provides a full range of early intervention services in compliance with Part C of the IDEA. Includes, but is not limited to, physical and occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, nutrition services, audiology, developmental intervention as individually determined to meet the needs of the child through an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).

Information and Referral provided through Project ASSIST
o Contacts and referrals regarding Nevada and national organizations that serve children and young adults with disabilities, their families and their service providers. Provides information on parent support groups; screening, diagnosis and assessment; early intervention programs for infants and toddlers; preschool special education services; education, health, and social service agencies; vocational training; therapy; counseling and psychological services; advocacy organizations; financial and legal assistance; and many other services.
