Brief Description

Over 65% of our customers are seniors. TBBC provides free reading materials in digital, Braille, large print, and cassette format, for anyone who for a physical reason cannot read or use with ease regular books and magazines (visual or mobility impairments and learning disabilities). Newspaper services are provided through Audiovision at www.audiovision-nj.org and through NFB-Newsline. Some services for the deaf and hard of hearing available, including try-before-you-buy loans of assistive listening devices. An Assistive Technology Loan Program funded by the NJ Commission for the Blind & Visually Impaired (CBVI) and administered by the library provides loans of technology such as CCTVs for TBBC customers who are also recommended by CBVI.

  • Audiodescription
    • Provides videocassettes with descriptive narrative.

  • Library Services
    • Provides talking books, talking book machines, large-print books, audiocassettes, and braille books for blind and physically handicapped persons.

  • Reading Services
    • Audiovision at www.audiovision-nj.org broadcasts 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Publications read include the Trenton Times, Camden Courier Post, Asbury Park Press, Home News Tribune, Newark Star Ledger, Bergen Record, and the South Jersey edition Philadelphia Inquirer. TBBC also administers NFB-Newsline.
