Brief Description

The National Resource Center answers questions from parents, teachers, music students and others regarding braille music, accessible music technology, and strategies for participating in music and theory classes, especially at the college level. It runs a Summer Braille Music Institute for college-bound musicians at the Overbrook School for the Blind in Philadelphia. The Resource Center is a division of a school of the arts in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Originally named the Music Foundation for the Visually Handicapped and then Music and Arts center for Humanity (MACH), the school itself is now called Neighborhood Studios of Fairfield County and serves children from Bridgeport's inner city and children and adults with special needs. The Resource Center serves blind and visually impaired children and adults mostly through referral services and a few programs. Fee-based distance learning in the U.S. can be arranged.
